Ide Katims, Ph.D., Consulting Mediator

katimsDr. Katims’ practice focuses on divorce, eldercare and healthcare decision-making mediation.   She has over 30 years of experience as a community health nurse and nurse educator working with families confronting illnesses, disability, and other challenging life events.  As a mediator, her special interest is in working with families confronting divorce, separation, eldercare, and other family conflicts such as serious family disagreement around difficult health care decisions.  Dr. Katims is Professor Emeritus at the State University of New York at New Paltz, where she taught family and community health nursing for 25 years.  Dr. Katims is an experienced mediator trained in divorce and eldercare mediation, and is a member of the New York State Dispute Resolution Association and the New York State Council of Divorce Mediators.  She is also certified as a Lemon Law Arbitrator and a Part 146 Attorney-Client Fee Dispute Arbitrator.
